Bike Week

Also known as Daytona Beach Bike Week and Daytona Bike Week

Bike Week is a annual motorcycle event and rally held in Daytona Beach, Florida. Over half a million people come to Florida for bike week. The 10-day event is usually held on the first full week of March. In addition to tens of thousands of motorcycles on display, Bike week festivities include motorcycle racing, concerts, parties, and street festivals.

Started in 1937, bike week has gained in popularity in spite of negative press due to unruly behavior and accidental deaths. Local businesses welcome the yearly bike week crowds with monster servings of food, concerts by well known rock bands and bike week branded souvenirs. Visitors come from as far away as Japan, Europe and Africa to take part in Bike Week partying.

Many merrymakers come to bike week on motorcycles for the sunny Florida spring weather and unusual events. Wet T-shirt contests, coleslaw wrestling, bikini shows, leather and custom motorcycles are hallmarks of this yearly bike week celebration of the freedom of the open road.
